Level-Up Your Recovery with Service – District Elections Happening Now!

Are you looking for something to boost your recovery journey? Have you considered service above the group level? Do you know someone that you think would be good in a District service position?

District 15 is starting up elections for new Officers and Coordinators. “Our leaders are but trusted servants – they do not govern” – Tradition Two. In the spirit of the principle of rotation of leadership, trusted servants will be stepping down from their positions so that others can share the joy of service and grow in their recovery. Taking on a service role is a way to learn new skills, meet new people outside of your normal meeting, practice Al-Anon principles in a different setting, and give back to the program so that it continues to be available for everyone who needs it. There are service opportunities regardless of how long you have been in Al-Anon, and there are always people available to help who have done it before. We also encourage you to join us at our service workshop on September 17, co-hosted with our neighboring District 17.

You can read about the District positions that will soon be open on our Service Page, as well as look at the Position Guidelines. Note that District Coordinator and Alternate Coordinator positions are available to all Al-Anon members, including those who are also members of AA.

Elections will be starting at the next District Meeting on September 23, and we are hoping to fill a lot of positions then. (Subsequent District Meetings will be held at the usual time, on the third Saturday of the month.) When standing for a position, you must be present at the District Meeting, which is held on Zoom. All are welcome, you just need to register one time using this link.

Please feel free to reach out to me or any of our current trusted servants with questions. We look forward to seeing you at the District Meeting!
